College Policies and Procedures
 
Wenatchee Valley College policies and procedures provide the college community with a written record of current board policies and college operational procedures. Although the policies and procedures are established primarily to guide and assist employees in performing their assigned functions, many policies and procedures have wide applicability - they affect both academic and administrative areas, all employees, or the activities of the college as they relate to students, alumni, the community and the general public.
 
Policies and procedures are generally applicable to more than one department or division of the college. Matters that pertain only to the internal policies, procedures, practices or guidelines of a given department or division are not considered within the scope of board policy or college operational procedure and are therefore omitted.

Definitions:  

Policies: are written expressions of the college philosophy, established to provide direction to employees and other members of the WVC community in the conduct of college affairs.

Alternate Policy Definition: College policies are pre-decisions made by appropriate leadership for the purpose of giving information and direction. Policies establish basic philosophies and climate and determine the major values upon which the college functions must operate.

Procedures: are the prescribed means of accomplishing policy. Their intent is to provide the college community with the guidelines and, where appropriate, the specific action sequences to ensure uniformity, compliance and control of all policy related activities

Alternate Procedures Definition: Procedures are statements that describe specific actions to be taken to conform with established general policies, and allow for the orderly implementation of these policies.

 
 
 
New Tobacco Policy
 
Wenatchee Valley College became tobacco free on June 17, 2013. The use of tobacco products is prohibited on college property and smoking materials must be extinguished and disposed of prior to entering any campus. This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes and smokeless tobacco.
