What you need to know if you're prompted to log in:

  • Many library resources require a WVC network account. Why?  Because the library pays for access to the information, and the companies we buy from limit the access to WVC students, staff and faculty.  The WVC catalog does not require a log in.
    • Members of the public are welcome to come to the WVC libraries in Wenatchee and Omak to use our databases. Here are our hours.
  • You should only be prompted to log in once during a session.  You'll be asked to log in when you click on a licensed resource (e.g. Proquest).  If you close the browser and start again, or start a different browser, you'll be prompted to log in again.

  • WVC students and faculty: logon using the same username and password you use to logon to the student computers on campus.
    • USERNAME. Your user name consists of your first initial and last name exactly as you registered for class and the last four digits of your student ID number. There is no space between your first initial, last name and the last four digits of your SID number. Example: RSmith1234
    • PASSWORD. Your password is identical to the password you use to logon to student computers on campus.

  • WVC staff: logon following the pattern below:
    • USERNAME: Your user name combines the first initial of your first name with your last name (John Smith's username would be jsmith)
    • PASSWORD: Your password is your "905" number.

Common problems

- Problem:  you go directly to the resource's page, enter your username and password and can't get in.

-- Solution: you must get to the resource through the library's site.  If you type www.proquest.com into your browser from off campus for instance, Proquest won't know that you're an authorized user. Follow the links to proquest from our site, because they contain information that will authorize you.
