How can I print to campus printers?
WVC implemented a new printing system, called PaperCut, in Fall of 2012. You must use a campus computer, such as those in the library or computer labs, in order to print to campus printers. Each time you initialize a print, you’ll see a popup message that shows you how much the current job will cost.
Click the PaperCut icon in the lower right corner of your screen to display your current balance, or to see a detailed printing history.
If your account is at zero, you will not be able to print. You cannot go into the negative. The system does not affect your other WVC accounts – holds will not be placed due to lack of printing funds.
How much does it cost?
You will be charged 5 cents per page for black and white, and 35 cents per page for color. You’ll be charged separately for each side of a page that you print, although you can print more than one page per side if you’d like.
How do I add money to my PaperCut account?
Students start each quarter with a free credit of $15 provided by the college. Once these funds are used up, additional money can be added through the use of the PaperCut machine in the Library (pictured at right), next to the Reference Desk. It accepts both bills and coins, but does not take credit cards.
- Press the touch screen to wake the machine up
- Enter your login and password using the physical keyboard
- Note your current balance upon successful login
- Enter additional funds and your on-screen balance will change in real time
- Hit “Done” to log out
What happens to this money at the end of the quarter or when I graduate?
There will be no return of funds – all accounts are cleared at the end of each quarter.
What if my job doesn’t print? Will I still be charged?
You won’t be charged unless your job prints. Seek assistance if the printer is not working. If the job does print but is unusable due to low ink or mangled paper, please seek out a staff member and they can credit your account. |
