This short video demonstration will introduce the layout of the library web site.

  • From wvc.edu, use the Quick Jump menu to reach the Library site

  • Searches of the WVC Catalog can now be made from the main page, by Keyword, Title, Author, or Subject – Or you can see more search options by clicking Advanced.

  • Other Searches can be made at any time from the Quick Search menu on the left navigation. For example, a search of all databases can be made by clicking All Databases, logging in using your WVC login and password, selecting all, and then typing in a keyword, title, or author.

  • To see our guides on finding different types of library resources, use the Find menu. For example, clicking Media, either from the main page or from the top menu will bring up a list of suggested media resources.

  • Major library services, like Ask-A-Librarian, Interlibrary Loan, Study Rooms, and the Tutor Center are accessible from the services menu in the top navigation.

  • Other menus have been added to the main page for Popular Databases, Subject Guides, and About the Library.

  • When seeking assistance, use the How Do I… menu, and either open the How Do I page to see a list of instructional guides and tutorials, or select Get Help for more options, like Librarian contact information and information on requesting instruction.

  • Options for contacting the Library or seeking outside help directly are always accessible from the Communication menu on the left navigation, including links to a new Facebook page and Twitter feed.

  • Finally, the latest additions to the library services and collections will be announced via the Twitter widget on the main page of the library web site.
